A man is being treated for injuries sustained in an apparent fight in Nipomo Friday afternoon.
San Luis Obispo County sheriff’s deputies were called to the scene on the 500 block of Orchard Avenue just before 1:30 p.m.
Sheriff’s officials say it appears two transients started fighting resulting in one being injured.
He initially said he had been shot in the head, but the sheriff’s office says there is no evidence of that, adding it appears he did sustain some type of trauma to his face and mouth as a result of the fight.
He was being treated at the scene by paramedics.
No word on if the other man has been taken into custody.

The Lucia Mar Unified School District says both Lange and Dana elementary schools were told to "Secure in Place" for a short time when the incident was first unfolding.
