An Aptos man was sentenced to six years in state prison Thursday for his role in a deadly crash earlier this year in Nipomo.

The sentence came after Aleksandr Moiseyev, 29, pleaded no contest in August to a charge of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated for the July 8 crash on Pomeroy Road near Sandydale Drive that killed Jose Soto Gonzales, 57, from Nipomo.

The California Highway Patrol said Moiseyev drifted into the opposite lane and crashed his small SUV into Gonzales' pickup truck.

Moiseyev has been in custody at the San Luis Obispo County Jail since his arrest, records show.
