Bishop's Peak Elementary School in San Luis Obispo unveiled its new multi-purpose room Thursday.

It features a basketball court and a stage for performances.

The principal says it'll be used daily by the students and be available for sports leagues and other community organizations on the weekends.

"A year ago we were just telling the students, there was a big hole here. They had to over-excavate and to see this in its state now, it's absolutely gorgeous inside," said Dan Block, Bishop's Peak Elementary School Principal.

Construction of the multi-purpose room was paid for with funds from Measure D, a bond measure passed by voters in 2014.
