Monterey Bay Community Power is holding a special meeting Monday morning to adopt a resolution authorizing the CEO to defer upcoming payments due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The discussion includes deferring 50% of generation charges incurred in May and June 2020 billing periods for all customers to mitigate the financial impact of COVID-19.
If approved, MBCP customers will experience a total deferred cost savings of $22.4 million for an immediate two month bill savings.
MBCP currently serves the cities of Morro Bay and San Luis Obispo.
