The Monterey County District Attorney's office announced additional charges on Monday to the man accused of firing projectiles at cars along Highway 101 and 156 near Prundale.
Charles Kenneth Lafferty, 52, was arrested on Jan. 22. in Nipomo. On Friday, Jan. 24 the Monterey County District Attorney's Office announced they charged Lafferty with nine counts of assault with a deadly weapon.
Lafferty appeared in court again on Monday, where the District Attorney announced he is now facing 79 charges. Those charges include 74 counts of assault with a deadly weapon, three counts of child abuse and two counts of abuse on a peace officer.
Police believe Lafferty used a sling shot and marbles to fire at cars.
Lafferty pleaded not guilty in court on Monday.
