Organizers with the Morro Bay Art in the Park event announced Monday that the event will be canceled for the first time in 65 years.
The Memorial Day Art event was scheduled to take place May 23- 25, but was to be canceled by the state's department of public health.
The event is held multiple times a year. The next dates include July 3-5 and Sept. 5-7. Organizers say they are awaiting direction from the state or county if those weekends can still go ahead.
Organizers say they are hopeful that at the very least the September show will be allowed to happen.
