UPDATE (3:26 p.m.) - A 28-year-old man from Camp Lejeune, North Carolina suffered major injuries in a motorcycle crash north of Cayucos on Tuesday, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Officers say Dwight Pereira Bristot was riding a 2007 Harley Davidson northbound on Highway 1 just south of Villa Creek when traffic ahead of him began to slow because of road construction.
Bristot struck the back of a semi truck and was ejected from his motorcycle.
The CHP says Bristot was taken to the hospital with a head injury and a fractured left femur and left wrist.
The driver and passenger in the truck were not injured.

(1:36 p.m.) - A motorcyclist was hospitalized after crashing near Cayucos Tuesday afternoon.
It happened at around noon in the northbound lanes of Highway 1 just north of Cayucos.
A photo by CAL FIRE SLO shows the motorcycle on its side between the lane and shoulder of the road.
Traffic in the opposite lane appeared to be moving slowly through the area.
No word on the extent of the motorcyclist's injuries.
