California Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly crash involving a mail service vehicle and a motorcyclist.

CHP and the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office say the motorcyclist 45-year-old, Michael Joseph Figone of Santa Barbara, died on the scene as a result of the crash.

According to CHP, the mail driver turned left onto Alisa Lane from Marina Drive and Figone collided with the right side of the vehicle.

CHP says Figone was ejected from the motorcycle and landed on the roadway.

When first responders arrived they say Figone had succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash is still under investigation. CHP does not believe drugs or alcohol to be a factor in the crash.

Anyone with information about the crash is being asked to call CHP at 805-967-1234.
