The UC Santa Barbara Police Department issued an Emergency Notification to university staff and students Tuesday after a mountain lion was spotted on campus.
Police say the mountain lion was seen at Campus Point near the lagoon and the service road turnaround.
People were asked to avoid the area.
The California Dept. of Fish and Wildlife was reportedly called to respond.
Earlier in the day, officials with Allan Hancock College issued a warning after a mountain lion was seen on the southeast side of the Lompoc campus. It was the second mountain lion sighting near the college this month.
