A program launching this week in San Luis Obispo aims to help veterans find meaningful employment.
The Community Action Plan known as CAPSLO is kicking off its Vets2Work program.
The federally-funded initiative offers homeless veterans job search assistance, resume writing help, and interview skill training, among other services.
CAPSLO currently serves about 70 veterans in San Luis Obispo.
"Part of what we also do in that resume writing is what were your job duties in the military and translate that to civilian terms and look at industries in our civilian world that they can go into," said Brandy Graham, CAPSLO veterans support program manager.
The new program is free and also helps link veterans with housing and transportation.
To qualify, veterans must have a military discharge that was not dishonorable and are homeless or at immediate risk of homelessness.
