A new mural is highlighting the history of Oceano.
On Saturday, Grover Beach artist, Oscar Pearson, celebrated the unveiling of his mural on the side of Chacho's Mexican takeout.
It can be seen while driving along Highway 1.
The mural incorporates scenery from the Central Coast including the Oceano Dunes as well as Mexican and indigenous cuisine.
Pearson said he wanted to paint a mural that showcased the community's origins.
"It's a bright, bold celebration of Oceano as a community, of Hispanic culture, of indigenous and Mexican culture, and the history of Oceano.," Pearson said.
The Oceano Beach Community Association provided funding for the artwork. Members wanted the mural to benefit Oceano and its small businesses.
