People are being reminded once again to be cautious when solicited for donations over the phone.
North County Rape Crisis and Child Protection Center Executive Director Ann McCarty says they’ve learned someone is calling people in the community under their organization’s name and asking for donations.
McCarty says the caller asks for credit card and other personal information.
She says this is not how their organization conducts business, adding they never made cold calls asking for donations.
The North County Rape Crisis and Child Protection Center operates two 24-hour crisis hotlines within Northern Santa Barbara County.
