The City of Santa Maria will host a community meeting Tuesday to address the concerns of residents in the northwest area of the city.
The meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. October 8 at Santa Maria Foursquare Church, located at 709 North Curryer St.
The city defines the northwest neighborhood as Broadway to the east, Fesler Street to the south, and Blosser Road to the west.
Mayor Alice Patino will begin the meeting by sharing updates on city services.
"It's an opportunity really for the mayor to kick things off," said City Manager Jason Stilwell. "She'll explain why we're here, what the city is doing, what our objectives are for the evening, then there's a breakout room where we have all the different services departments of the city there with the key folks to be able to hear from the residents."
The meeting is one of four meetings officials are holding for each city quadrant. Stilwell says the most common concerns they're hearing from residents include speeding, traffic, park improvements, road improvements, code enforcement issues, and illegal parking.
