One person sent to hospital after Amtrak train and car collide in Carpinteria

UPDATE (4:50 p.m.) - An Amtrak representative tells KSBY service on Amtrak train 14 was temporarily interrupted after it came in contact with a vehicle partially in the tracks.

According to the representative, service on that train resumed around 2:30 p.m.

There were no reported injuries to Amtrak customers or crew members according to Amtrak officials.

ORIGINAL STORY (4:02 p.m.) - The California Highway Patrol says crews got reports of a vehicle versus Amtrak train in Carpinteria.

According to CHP, emergency personnel responded around 12:30 p.m. just near the Highway 101 N. Padaro exit.

CHP officials say one person, believed to be the driver, was transported to a nearby hospital with injuries.

It's unclear how long train passengers were delayed.
