The Orcutt Lions Club is collecting used eyeglasses and a new drop-off box is making donating to the cause a little easier.
Anyone can drop off their old pair of glasses at the Orcutt Lions Den, located at 126 S. Broadway in Old Town Orcutt.
The new dropbox is shaped like a mailbox and painted with a picture of eyeglasses. It's located just to the right of the front door.
Donations can be dropped off there at any time of the day or night.
The project is sponsored by the Lions Sight Conservation Foundation of Santa Maria.
Many Lions Clubs across the Central Coast take part in the eyeglasses collection program.
In Arroyo Grande, the Lions Club there says it maintains eyeglasses collection boxes at many vision professionals in South County.
