Orcutt man accused of selling heroin

An Orcutt man is facing several drug charges after police say they found him in possession of heroin for sale.

With help from the FBI, Santa Maria police arrested Paul Bendele Jr., 58, on Wednesday after serving a search warrant at a home in the 1300 block of Via Santa Maria.

Police say they found several bindles of heroin packaged for sale totaling about 73 grams, along with scales, packaging and other evidence of drug sales. Several rounds of ammunition were also reportedly found at the home.

Bendele was arrested on suspicion of sales and transportation of heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia, felon in possession of ammunition, and probation violation.

He is currently being held at the Santa Barbara County Jail without bail.
