The Paso Robles Police Department was awarded a $13,600 grant to help curb alcohol-related harm.
According to the press release, it was awarded from the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and will be administered by the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control.
The purpose of the grant is to help reduce alcohol availability to minors and crime related to alcohol.
“This is important to the city in order to increase protection for youth,” Commander Davis said in the press release.
The city said police will do this through multiple enforcement, educational and prevention programs.
Some of the grant funds will help cover holiday enforcement efforts.
