The San Luis Obispo County District Attorney's Office is charging the former Food Services Director at the Paso Robles Joint Unified School District with conflict of interest.

Gregg Joseph Wangard, 42, was reportedly employed by the school district between November 2015 and June 3, 2019. During that time, the DA's Office alleges that Wangard made contracts for services with Kelle & Co. Consulting, which is owned by his spouse and in which he had a financial interest.

Prosecutors say the total value of those contracts was approximately $2,775.

Wangard is charged with five misdemeanor counts.

He is scheduled for arraignment on November 18.

The DA's Office says the school district's superintendent contacted them in October and requested a review of evidence obtained during an investigation involving Wangard.
