One person is dead after they were hit by a semi-truck on Highway 101 South in Santa Barbara early Friday morning.
The crash happened near the Garden Street off-ramp before 1:30 a.m.
CHP said the male pedestrian ran from the center divide across the southbound lanes and directly in front of the truck. He was pronounced dead at the scene. His name is not being released by authorities at this time.
The driver of the truck stopped and is cooperating with officers, CHP said.
The right lane of Highway 101 South and Garden street off-ramp are closed while crews are on scene.
No more information was immediately available.
The investigation is ongoing.
