UPDATE: Grover Beach Police confirm a female pedestrian died after being hit by a vehicle Wednesday night.
The name of the woman is not being released at this time.

A pedestrian is in the hospital after being struck by a vehicle in Grover Beach Wednesday night.
Police say the collision happened at the intersection of 7th St and Grand Ave.
The person hit by the car was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the car involved cooperated with investigators. They were tested for alcohol or drugs and that was determined not to be a factor.
Grand Ave. was closed from 6th St. to 8th St. for several hours following the collision. That section of road is now open
