First responders extricated a person Saturday morning after a single-vehicle rollover crash occurred in the Santa Maria Valley.
According to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department, crews received a report at approximately 9:17 a.m. of a car traveling eastbound at a "high rate of speed" that had rolled over near the area of Betteravia Road and Rosemary Road from Highway 101. The fire department, along with a Santa Maria Fire Department engine and a CALSTAR air ambulance, responded to the scene.
When first responders arrived, they found one person stuck inside the vehicle with "critical injuries," according to fire officials.
Rescue crews extricated the person and loaded them into the CALSTAR air ambulance. The patient is receiving treatment for their injuries at the Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital, according to the fire department.
Law enforcement officials are investigating the cause of the crash.
