Pismo Beach to cancel 74th annual clam festival due to pandemic

The 74th annual Pismo Beach clam festival will not be taking place this year, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, but some some festivities will still take place.

Voting for fan favorite clam chowder will begin on Oct. 10 through Oct. 24. where participating restaurants will sample their recipes.

Participating restaurants include Ada's Fish House, Cracked Crab, Pismo Fish & Chips, Ribline, Rosa's Italian Restaurant, Splash Cafe, SeaVenture Restaurant, Somerset Grill at Vespera, and Blonde at Inn at the Pier.

Restaurants will be open for takeout, dining outside, and reduced indoor dining.

Pismo Beach plans to hold their 75th annual clam festival in Oct. of 2021, will full event traditions including the parade, kids zone, clam chowder contest, and live music.
