Around 175 PG&E customers will be without power Thursday in the Avila Beach area while crews work to replace electrical poles in the area.

PG&E says the planned outage from approximately 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. will include people in the Heron Crest and Kingfisher Canyon sections of San Luis Bay Estates.

Low-flying helicopters will also be in the area for the work.

PG&E says the pole replacement project will improve the reliability of the company’s electrical system in the Avila area.

Customers who will be affected should have received advance notice from PG&E.
