Grover Beach police have released the identity of the pedestrian hit and killed on North Oak Park Boulevard last week, identifying him as Justin Dean Truman Kissinger, 33, of Arroyo Grande.

Grover Beach Police Chief John Peters said Kissinger was crossing the street in an unmarked crosswalk when he was hit by an SUV at around 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21, on the 300 block of N. Oak Park Boulevard.

The driver of the SUV stayed at the scene and cooperated with officers, according to police.

Chief Peters says the driver was checked for use of drugs or alcohol and was found to not be intoxicated.

Grover Beach police and the California Highway Patrol are continuing to investigate.
