Police in Santa Maria are asking for help locating a 23-year-old woman last seen Sunday at around 8 a.m. and who is considered to be at-risk.

After going to The Laundry Room on the 600 block of N. Broadway at around 11 a.m., investigators say they believe Juana Lopez Bautista then went to a local grocery store. Investigators say they do not know which store she may have gone into.

Her 2001 Kia Sportage SUV was found abandoned near Jim May Park at around 7 p.m., according to police.

"Family members and police have been unable to contact Lopez by phone, which is out of character for her," police said in a press release, adding that they consider her at-risk because she has no history of running away or disappearing.

Anyone who sees Bautista or knows where she may be is asked to call police at (805) 928-3781, ext. 2277.
