A man is facing murder charges following a shooting over the weekend in Lompoc that killed one person and injured two others.

Lompoc police tell KSBY News Raymond Ramon Vega, 25, was arrested around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in connection with the shooting that happened Saturday shortly before 10:30 p.m. on the 700 block of North F/G Alley.

They say they're still looking for two other suspects in the case, which is believed to be gang related.

The three people shot were taken to the hospital after police arrived. One person died a short time later. He has been identified as Erik Villa Vargas, 15.

The names of the other adult and teen injured or updates on their conditions have not been released.

The arrest came after four days of what police call "vigorous investigation."

Along with murder, Vega also faces charges of participation in a criminal street gang and discharge of a firearm during a crime.

Saturday's shooting marked the seventh homicide in the city this year, prompting some in the city to attend Wednesday night’s Public Safety Committee meeting hoping to make their voices heard.

KSBY was at the meeting and will have more on this story on KSBY News at 10 and 11.
