Paso Robles police say they found a man in a stolen car Thursday morning with stolen checks, a gun, and drugs.

Police say officers located Benjamin Keeney, 41, in the Golden One Credit Union parking lot on Niblick Road just after midnight.

They say he was in possession of a stolen Kia Optima.

When officers searched Keeney and the car, they say they found a revolver with the serial number removed, as well as stolen mail, checks, identification cards, and computer equipment used to manufacture checks. Police say on one of the checks, Keeney's name was written where another name had been scratched out.

Investigators say they also found a large amount of methamphetamine, heroin, marijuana, prescription Xanax pills, methadone, fentanyl, and drug paraphernalia.

Keeney was arrested and booked into San Luis Obispo County Jail.
