Police say the man who barricaded himself inside a home with a gun killed himself.

UPDATE (3:45 p.m.) - Authorities remained on scene in Atascadero shortly before 4 p.m. Friday after reports of a man armed with a gun inside a home along the 7600 block of Cristobal.
Road blocks were up and people in the area were being told to stay inside.
Police say they responded after receiving reports that a man was inside the home, armed with a gun and threatening to hurt himself.
Police say the man's son was inside the home when shots were fired. The son was able to get out safely and call for help.
Police tell KSBY News they are communicating with the man and hope they can come to a "peaceful resolution."

(3:05 p.m.) - Authorities are on scene in Atascadero Friday afternoon for reports of a suicidal person.
Police activity was reportedly seen near the 7300 block of Cristobal.
Atascadero police have not returned KSBY's requests for information on the incident but the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office says it is assisting.
KSBY has a crew heading to the scene and will have updates as they become available.
