A portion of Broad Street in San Luis Obispo was shut down Thursday morning and is expected to remain closed until Friday morning.
City officials say crews are working to repair a water main break.
Broad Street between Capitolio Way and Industrial Way is closed and traffic is being rerouted onto Sacramento Street.
City officials warned that water service for those in the immediate area may be affected and some people may notice water discoloration. They say the water discoloration is not harmful; however, city staff is providing bottled water on-site.
Police are advising people to use alternate routes around the area.
