Update (11:51 a.m.):

According to Carina Corral, PG&E's Communications Representative, the outage was caused by a piece of failed equipment.

The outage impacted 107 PG&E customers along the Morro Bay Embarcadero, including Tony Carignan's business, Daisy's Organic Coffee and Tea.

"I was just starting my runs in the morning and at about 3:30 a.m., the power was completely out," Carignan said. "It was complete pitch black. Some of the business owners said it's been out since about 1:30 a.m."

Carignan adds that he had to throw away milk and eggs because of the outage.

"We just hope that we can recoup all our losses from today," he said.
