ORIGINAL STORY: A prescribed burn is underway in the Cayucos area.
CAL FIRE SLO says it is assisting State Parks with the burn Monday on Highway 1 across from Villa Creek Road.
About 100 acres of grass is scheduled to be burned as part of what CAL FIRE calls rotational burning.
Fire officials say the last time this area burned was 10 years ago.
Another burn is planned Monday in Arroyo Grande off Hi Mountain Road and Tuesday in Creston.
