Dozens of witches and warlocks will be trading their broomsticks for paddleboards this Saturday for the "Original Annual Witches/Warlock Paddle" in Morro Bay.
The Halloween tradition was started six years ago but until this year, the timing of the paddle-out was mostly a secret.
Now, the "Morro Bay Witch Coven" is going public and inviting others to join the event.
This year, community members who'd like to participate are encouraged to dress in costume and bring their paddleboards, kayaks, or other vessels to Coleman Park on Saturday, Oct. 26. Witches will begin paddling out into the bay at 11 a.m.
Participants are also asked to bring donations of canned foods or cash, which will be collected for the Food Bank of San Luis Obispo County.
