Friends and family of an Orcutt girl who passed away from cancer have placed purple ribbons all around Orcutt.
Lexi Brown battled fibroblastic sarcoma and died a few years ago.
The ribbons were put up on Friday, Oct. 4, a day before Lexi would have turned 16.
The ribbons are to show awareness for childhood cancer. Purple was Lexi's favorite color.
Her loved ones say they represent Lexi's rich, vibrant personality, and how she touched the hearts of so many.
"To see the purple ribbons, it's just I remember yes she passed away it was terrible, but to have the joy of seeing the ribbons to remember that community spirit all over again I think that's whats important," says Lexi's mom, Lisa Brown.
The ribbons will remain up through halloween.
