Rain impacts traffic, causes flooding across the Central Coast

UPDATE (8:40 p.m.): Another traffic break has been requested on US 101 southbound and the South Morro Road off-ramp near Atascadero, following a traffic collision that left one vehicle in the center divider.

Traffic is being slowed at San Anselmo, according the CHP's Incident Information Page.

A vehicle rolled over into the center divider on the 101 northbound near the North Higuera Street off-ramp.

Several people were seen on the side of the road near the car with CHP officers but it's unclear if anyone suffered injuries.

Roadway flooding has been reported in Santa Maria near the intersection of West Stowell Road and Black Road.

Units are waiting on confirmation from the county to close the road.

The California Highway Patrol is currently on scene of several collisions across the Central Coast.

One vehicle was overturned in a collision on the US 101 northbound and Laetitia Vineyard Dr, near the Laetitia Winery.

The extent of the injuries as a result of that crash is unknown at this time.

The CHP has created a traffic break on the 101 northbound in that area to help slow vehicles down.

Another traffic break was requested on US 101 southbound and SR-58 off-ramp following a vehicle overturned on its side.

The extent of injuries in that collision is unknown.

Flooding has been reported in several locations in Santa Maria including:

  • E Clark Ave / Harmony Ln
  • SR-1 at the Rancho Maria Golf Course

A tree was reported to be blocking the roadway near Vandenberg Village at SR-1 and the North Constellation Road off-ramp.
