A Black Lives Matter activist made his first appearance in San Luis Obispo County Court Monday.
A rally was held outside of the courthouse Monday morning in support of Robert Lastra and the BLM movement.
Lastra is one of six activist being charged in connection with a San Luis Obispo protest that happened in July.
During that protest, demonstrators blocked Highway 101 and police claim some participants commited acts of vandalism.
Lastra faces charges of vandalism and false imprisonment.
