ORIGINAL STORY: Resurfacing work will close a portion of Highway 246 in Lompoc this week.
The four-day project is set to take place Tuesday through Friday from Highway 1 (H Street) to Mission Gate Road.
Highway 246 will be closed daily from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. while the grinding and paving work is underway.
Motorists headed west can detour onto Purisima Road to reach Lompoc, while motorists wishing to travel east towards Buellton can detour onto Highway 1 at "H" Street to Purisima Road.
Electronic message boards will be activated to inform the public about this roadwork.
