Congressman Salud Carbajal spoke to local veterans at his annual San Luis Obispo veteran’s breakfast Tuesday morning to understand what resources they use and need.
During the event, he also told them the work being done in Washington D.C., to help veterans get additional services.
This comes two months after Carbajal reintroduced his Homes for the Brave legislation.
The bill would help make sure future veterans and their families have access to quality, affordable housing.
“It was a good opportunity for us to meet with our representative of congress to hear about what kinds of things are going on there that impact may not just the older veterans but definitely impacts the younger veterans,” Vietnam veteran Dennis Javens said.
The Central Coast Leatherneck Honor Guard also celebrated its 20th anniversary at the event.
