Zoo Med Laboratories is bringing one of the largest pet and reptile expos ever to San Luis Obispo.

As a company, Zoo Med makes products for everything you would need to take care of a pet reptile.

With several hundred animals in different habitats, research and development allows Zoo Med to determine exactly what these reptiles need.

Zoo Med sponsors shows all over the world and will be bringing the SLO Reptile Expo right to their own backyard.

Guests will be able to see different animals, the products they need, and speak to knowledgeable breeders that can provide more info on taking care of the animals.

"It's a great place to get into reptiles because often people hear reptile and they instantly think snake. There are a lot people that have phobias of snakes, but when you think about reptiles and think turtle or tortoise, everybody kind of changes their mindset a little bit. It's not scary anymore," said Ashley Rademacher, Zoo Med's Animal Care and Education Director.

The SLO Reptile Expo will take place at Alex Madonna Expo Center on Saturday, March 14, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, March 15, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
