Santa Barbara County safety officials are working to keep the community safe and informed when it comes to storm preparedness near the Cave Fire burn scar area.

Community members attended a meeting Thursday night where experts addressed any questions and concerns.

Public safety officials discussed mitigation, preparations and decision-making processes in advance of the winter storm season.

"Some of the key things that community members can do is be informed, know what the risks are where they live, where they work, where they like to play and everywhere in between, cause as they drive between those areas they need to know what that risk is" says Kelly Hubbard, Director of the Office of Emergency Management.

Experts say you can also register your contact information in case of an emergency.
