The San Luis Coastal Education Foundation is helping local schools expand their resources with the awarding of an innovation grant.
The organization gifted $5,000 to Pacheco Elementary school to build its media lab.
The grant is being given to five other schools in the San Luis Obispo area. The grants range from $5,000 - $10,000.
These grants help support the education of technology while also helping students become career-ready by the time they are looking to enter the workforce.
The foundation regularly gives back when the district needs help exploring new programs.
The schools that received the grants include SLO High School, Teach Elementary, Morro Bay High School, Pacheco Elementary, Hawthorne Elementary and Los Ranchos Elementary.
Last week, The San Luis Coastal Education Foundation also awarded Monarch Grove Elementary with a grant.
