San Luis Obispo County District 3 Supervisor Adam Hill has been hospitalized for an unspecified reason.
County Administrative Officer Wade Horton confirmed Thursday that Hill was taken to the hospital Wednesday but did not elaborate as to why.
"Out of recognition for Supervisor Hill’s right to privacy, we will not answer any questions regarding his personal health," Horton said in an email statement.
Hill's condition Thursday was unknown.
The news of Hill's hospitalization comes just days after the primary election, where Hill ran against challenger Stacy Korsgaden.
As of the last count, Hill was leading by less than 3 percent.
He's held the position for 12 years. District 3 includes 61% of San Luis Obispo, Pismo Beach, Grover Beach, and the communities of Edna Valley and Avila Beach.
