San Luis Obispo gyms stay open with several changes amid coronavirus concerns

A number of gyms on the Central Coast have closed, while others remain open with some changes going into effect while communities work to stop the spread of coronavirus.

In San Luis Obispo, the YMCA is operating with normal business hours, but are not accepting day passes, punch cards, guest passes, or anyone one from out of town.

Kennedy Club Fitness announced there are no changes to its hours planned at this time. Classes sizes will be limited. The sauna in Atascadero and all STEAM rooms will be closed.

Meanwhile, Club 24 will also remain open during normal business hours. "We are taking extra cleaning precautions very seriously to ensure safety of all our staff, members and guests," the post stated.

The Cal Poly Recreation Center reopened on Saturday after extensive cleaning. It announced on Facebook it will continue to move forward with modified hours.

Equilibrium Fitness for Women in San Luis Obispo has suspended child care services hours until further notice. All gym services will remain open at this time.
