San Luis Obispo Police investigate threat written on mirror at Laguna Middle School

On Tuesday evening, administrators with Laguna Middle School contacted the San Luis Obispo Police Department about a threatening message found inside one of the girl's bathrooms.

According to a press release, a small group of students found the words, "School Shooting 12-02-19" written on a mirror inside the restroom.

The San Luis Obispo Police Department's School Resource Officer and Detectives are currently conducting an investigation to determine who is responsible for writing this message.

According to Laguna Middle School officials, during the time this message was discovered, there were several events taking place at the school, and there were over 100 students present.

Police say they are uncertain of the circumstances behind the message, and that the safety of students, staff and families are their main concern.

Laguna Middle School staff and parents of the students have been notified of the incident.

San Luis Obispo Police have put procedures into place to increase the safety of Laguna Middle School until the incident is resolved.
