The Santa Barbara County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday dedicated $10.1 million toward restoring roads within the Montecito community and surrounding area that were damaged in the 1/9 debris flow.

Sixty sections of road will be restored.

The Board of Supervisors also allocated $2 million to the Flood Control District and nearly $8 million to the General Fund for one-time expenses related to emergency preparedness, response, recovery, and public safety.

The funds are part of the county's $28.1 million litigation settlement with Southern California Edison (SCE), which partially reimburses the county for costs incurred resulting from the Thomas Fire and mudslides.

The remainder of the settlement funds will reportedly be set aside for litigation defense costs against SCE and potential future audits by the federal Office of Inspector General.

The county estimates the net financial impact of the disasters at approximately $94 million.
