UPDATE: Far Western Tavern kitchen reopens after small kitchen fire

UPDATE (7:19 p.m.) - Employees at the Far Western Tavern say they were able to put out a grill fire inside their kitchen this afternoon.

The fire was reportedly within a hood system near the oak pit in the restaurant kitchen.

Santa Barbara County Fire says four engines and a battalion chief responded to reports of the structure fire after 12 p.m.

Employees say the fire was out before fire crews arrived on scene but firefighters stayed to inspect the building to ensure there were no further damages.

The Far Western Tavern says the kitchen reopened at five p.m.

Authorities say there were no injuries reported.

UPDATE (2:12 p.m.) - An official with the Santa Barbara County Fire Department says crews have extinguished the fire inside Far Western Tavern in Orcutt Saturday afternoon.

Officials say four fire engines and the battalion chief initially responded to reports of a structure fire at the restaurant shortly after 12 p.m. Saturday.

Investigators found there was a fire within a hood system near the oak pit in the restaurant kitchen, authorities say.

The fire department says crews remained on scene to make sure the fire did not extend to other parts of the restaurant.

Officials say there were no injuries reported in the fire.

ORIGINAL STORY (12:48 p.m.) - Firefighters with the Santa Barbara County Fire Department are responding to reports of a structure fire at 300 East Clark Avenue in Orcutt Saturday afternoon.

The address of the reported structure fire is of Far Western Tavern in Orcutt.

According to the PulsePoint app, the structure fire was initially reported a few minutes after 12 noon Saturday.

Santa Barbara County Fire Department officials did not respond immediately to calls from KSBY.
