Officials with the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office and State Parks discovered an abandoned drug-smuggling panga boat Friday morning on Tajiguas Beach in Goleta.
According to a news release sent to KSBY, shortly before 9 a.m. sheriff's deputies found the approximately 35-foot boat equipped with two motors, as well as several fuel canisters discarded in the kelp nearby.
Deputies said investigators searched the area and were not able to locate any suspects or drugs.
Homeland Security Investigations seized the boat and will investigate further, officials said.
