The Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office is partnering with the nonprofit Vitalant and the Earl Warren Showgrounds to host a blood drive on Jan. 26.

The blood drive will be at the Earl's Place building at the Earl Warren Showgrounds from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

To help maintain social distancing, appointments are requested and can be scheduled at www.blood4life.org using the sponsor code 1493. You can also register by phone at 805-542-8500.

Donors must be at least 16 years old, bring a photo I.D., wear a face covering, and have had plenty of food and water before donating. Donors who are 16 years old must bring a signed Vitalant parental consent form.

Vitalant has three locations along the Central Coast in San Luis Obispo, Santa Maria, and Santa Barbara and currently tests for COVID-19 antibodies to help find donors who could help COVID-19 patients.
