The city of Santa Barbara Parks and Recreation Department announced in a press release that summer camps will still be offered this year with modifications to help stop the spread of COVID-19.

These changes include smaller camp capacity, fewer summer camps offered and each session will break into smaller, socially-distanced groups, according to the release. Some camp locations will be moved, as well, to limit transportation.

A full list of the camps available for registration can be viewed at their website. The release said the camp listings on the website will be updated by June 5.

The statement said camps are planning to start later this year, with sessions starting on June 22

If any camper registered in a session before June 22, officials said they will receive a full refund. The same applies to families who are uncomfortable sending their kids to camp this year. All refunds will be issued with no further questions asked and the usual $25 fee will be waived.
