Santa Barbara residents now have a tool to monitor and report crime in their neighborhood.
The Santa Barbara Police Department has partnered with data giant, LexisNexis, to add a community crime map to it's website.
According to the press release, the crime map automatically syncs with the Police Department's records system in near real-time.
While using the map, residents can check crime statistics in their area, sign up for alerts, and submit an anonymous tip.
