UPDATE (7:46 p.m.) - Police say Miranda-Rivera is being reunited with her family after she was reported missing Saturday afternoon.

The 12-year-old was found in the Riviera Community thanks to the help of community members, according to officials.

ORIGINAL STORY (7:12 p.m.) - Santa Barbara Police Department is asking for the community's help locating a 12-year-old girl who has been reported missing by her family.

According to police, 12-year-old Brittney Nahomey Miranda-Rivera was visiting Santa Barbara with her family and became separated from the, around 5 p.m. near the area of Anacapa and E. Cota St.

She is 4’11” tall and weighs about 110lbs. She has brown hair and brown eyes.

The photo shown of Miranda-Rivera was taken just before her family lost contact with her.

She has no cell phone and is unfamiliar with the area, according to officials.

Police say she primarily speaks Spanish, but does understand some English.
